Update June 2022

Release date: June 11th 2022.

Release type: Major release containing new features, EPTS integrations and bug-fixes.

Introduction

In this update we have added a few new integrations with EPTS hardware manufacturers, overhauled the compare tool and the benchmarking tool in Testing & Screening, and overhauled the analytics tool in Self-Report. We have also introduced small UI/UX improvements various modules, some of which are based on suggestions by end-users.

Training & Game

Additions

Following additions have been made with current release:

  • The weekly schedule for refereeing teams has been upgraded with advanced sorting and filtering. You can now manage your viewing preferences and decide which load indicators you would like to see and in which order you would like to see them. Loads are now directly linked to the session, which can be viewed by clicking on it.
  • Exercise tests (heart rate tests) now have an individual overview as well as a team overview. Advanced filtering has been added, which make it easier to compare exercises tests over a long period of time.
  • We are now fully compatible with Polar Team Pro.
You can read more about it here.
  • We are now fully compatible with ASI products.
You can read more about it here.
  • We are now fully compatible with STATSports Pro Series.
You can read more about it here.
  • We are now fully compatible with STATSports Athlete Series.
You can read more about it here.
  • We are now fully compatible with the latest version of Polar AccessLink. Athlete accounts are now the only ones that can decide whether or not to share their sessions with Topsportslab (coaches can no longer manage the connection).
  • Under Training & Game you can now find a section called Training Files. This feature can be used to manage all load files that were imported from external EPTS services into Topsportslab for yourself or your athletes. Using this feature you can also manage which files should be reprocessed or should be mapped to other athletes.
You can learn more about it here.
  • GPX and TCX files can now be manually uploaded to Topsportslab. Processing and linking to sessions will be done automatically.
  • Polar Flow CSV exports can now be manually uploaded to Topsportslab. When some of your sessions are not available to import automatically (can occur with incorrect synching or sensor malfunctioning) they can be exported in Polar Flow and manually uploaded to Topsportslab.
  • Higher maximal heart rate detection. You will now receive a notification when we identify a maximal heart rate that is higher than what we have stored in your user data when we process a load file for you or one of your athletes. The notification can be accepted or ignored. In both cases Topsportslab will log the action that was taken.
  • Training sessions for football teams (group and individual) can now have an optional title. Sessions that have a title provided will show it in the calendar as well as in the overviews.

Bug-fixes

Following bugs were discovered and fixed with current release:

  • PDF generation problems in certain individual training sessions are solved.
  • Charts when comparing exercises tests are now more readable and will no longer have a mismatch between the axes.
  • Training Quality Report assessment overviews could have a miscalculation for the total assessment score in some cases when color codes were manually overridden.
  • Exercise tests could show an increased amount of decimals in some cases, causing the page to table to be more difficult to read.

Performance Management

Additions

Following additions have been made with current release:

  • Acute:Chronic workload management now has advanced filtering capabilities as well as new indicators such as accelerations and decelerations that can be used.
  • Workload periodisation now has advanced filtering capabilities.
  • Workload periodisation now has accelerations, decelerations and high speed running distance as selectable indicators added.

Bug-fixes

Following bugs were discovered and fixed with current release:

  • Position filter on Acute:Chronic workload ratio would cause empty results in some cases.

Self-Report

Additions

Following additions have been made with current release:

  • The Self-Report module now has an overhauled analytics tool which contains total scores, z-scores and direct linking to the results. Advanced filtering capabilities have been added to the tool, as well a daily view, an evolution view and a team view. You can learn more about it here.
  • Total scores of the daily questionnaires are now directly visible of the athlete on the general dashboard.

Testing

Additions

Following additions have been made with current release:

  • The Testing & Screening module now has an overhauled compare tool in which you can compare a single athlete’s results for multiple tests, your team’s most recent results for multiple tests and your team’s evolution (including interval differences) over multiple assessment dates. You can learn more about it here.
  • Compare tool now has both table views and chart views for easy reporting.
  • Compare tool now has z-scores and inline edits included for easy data correction.
  • The Testing & Screening module now has an overhauled benchmarking tool in which athletes can be compared to their own history, to the rest of the team or to another team within the organisation. You can learn more about it here.
  • Testing & Screening data is now available through the API.
  • New Testing & Screening PowerBI templates have been added to the Basic and Advanced plans.

Bug-fixes

Following bugs were discovered and fixed with current release:

  • Period views could cause empty results when filtering positions.
  • Period views will no longer show empty days in the tables. While this makes the charts easier to interpret evolution, the tables would cause endusers to have to scroll too much for results.
  • Latest test result was not immediately updated in the overviews, causing confusion with some of our endusers. Caching times have been decreased.
  • Due to latest test result not immediately being updated in the overviews, the averages would also be incorrect in some cases.

Core

Additions

Following additions have been made with current release:

  • Injury overview on the general dashboard now support clicking on injury type to see an overview of all open cases of said injury type.
  • The team switcher will now show your affiliations in alphabetical order instead of creation date.
